Maple Family

We have Maple trees in Florida, 

but they don't turn colors beautifully.
This one is not so bad....

*This is called "Samara" (aka whirlybird, helicopter, whirligig, polynose),
a simple dry fruits containing seeds.
The shape of Samara enables the wind to 
carry the seed farther away.
The seed is on one side, with the wing extending 
to the other side,
making the seed autorotate as it falls.
