Strawberry Tree / Jamaican Cherry = Muntingia calabura
Family: Muntingiaceae
Native to Southern Mexico, Caribbean, and
Central and Western South America
*The white flower resemble strawberry flowers, and the fruits resemble cherries, where the names come from.
The small green fruits quickly turn red, often overnight,
are edible, sweet and juicy.
