Origin: Australia

A beautiful flowering tropical tree
that boasts a springtime explosion
of scarlet blossoms.
Brilliant red stamens are arranged into
6" (15 cm) cylinders that resemble
the brushes used to clean bottles.

日本で見る「ブラシの木」は花が上に向かって
咲くのですね。栽培用で小さいからそうなのかな、
と思っていたけれど、別の種類でした。
(Callistemon speciosus)
フロリダにあるのは花が垂れ下がる種類の木です。
春になると、鮮やかな赤のオシベからなる花が
いっせいに咲くのでそれは見事です。
