This plant is best known for its seeds, which are
used as beads, to make jewelry, in percussion
instruments......but they also contains one of
the most deadly plant toxins, ABRIN.
Studies have shown that as little as 0.00015%
of toxin per body weight will cause fatality
in humans...a single seed.
But birds appear to be unaffected, as they
disperse rosary pea seed.
